Au pair in China
What is an Au Pair in China?
An Au Pair in China is a young single person between the ages of 18-29, who lives with a family in China for a period of 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. The Au pair helps with general housework and childcare in exchange for room, board and pocket money (stipend.)
The Au Pair program is one of cultural/educational exchange. The Au Pair is given the opportunity to experience the culture of the country that he/she is in. In return, the Au Pair will be asked to perform general household duties (washing and tidying up, laundry, ironing, cooking etc.) and to take care of the host children for a maximum of 35 hours per week. The Au Pair is not an employee but a member of the family and will be treated as such.
About China
Stretching 5,000 kilometers from east to west and 5,500 kilometers from north to south, China is a large country with widely varying landscapes. Its territory includes mountains, high plateaus, sandy deserts, and dense forests. Home to the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City and the mighty Yangtze River, there is a lot to explore! While traveling you also can’t miss out on treating yourself to some dim sum, Peking duck, hotpot, Zhajiangmian or mapo tofu (if you can handle the spice!). Visiting an authentic Chinese market is an absolute must do. The Chinese culture is very respectful, and they enjoy learning from others. Fun fact: the famous giant panda lives in the misty mountains of southwest China and nowhere else on Earth.
